COACHING

Your Questions Answered

FAQ: FAQ

What is coaching?

Coaching is a powerful process for creating significant and lasting change. It helps people move from where they are to where they want to be.

What does a coach do?

A coach provides a confidential, collaborative and non-judgmental space, asking you questions, clarifying what you are saying and reflecting back your narrative - all while focusing on your agenda, and your thoughts, challenges, outcomes and goals.

The coach holds that space for you to embark on a pragmatic journey of reflection, self-discovery and awareness combined with action, motivation and goal orientation creating new skills, new opportunities and increased self efficacy and actualization.

Can the coach give me advice and tell me what I need to do?

Coaches sometimes get confused with motivational speakers. In fact, a coach does not offer advice or wisdom. Although the coach can suggest certain books, articles and other activities, you choose whether to go ahead with any of these.

So the coach is like a therapist, the client talks and they listen?

Active listening is one thing coaching and therapy have in common. The main difference between counselling and coaching is that a therapist works with past, deep and unresolved emotional pain. A therapist works with someone who is unwell or suffering to help clients move from a state of dysfunction or pathology to a more healthy, functioning state.

Coaching, on the other hand, assumes a person is whole, creative and resourceful. You are in the driving seat. Your coach acts as your sounding board, your navigator, your advocate and journey partner. A coach helps you read your road maps clearly and provides you with resources, encouragement and accountability.

A good coach will encourage you to see a therapist if they feel that your situation requires it.

Is coaching for me?

Working with a coach can really make a difference for you if you are seeking

  • direction and purpose

  • greater performance and impact

  • effectiveness and resilience

  • clarity, focus, and accountability

  • enhanced leadership skills

A coach can also help you

  • avoid overwhelm or burnout

  • reveal and overcome blind spots

  • shift beliefs holding you back

  • break frustrating patterns

  • develop healthy habits

  • improve relationships

  • boost well-being

  • accelerate your success

However, not everyone is ready to be coached. You are coachable when you are able and willing

-  to invest in your mindset

-  to challenge your perspective

-  to try new approaches

-  to step outside your comfort zone

How do i choose the right coach for me?

The success of the coaching will depend on your relationship with your coach so it is vital that you choose a coach that is the right fit for you

According to a 2016 report published by the International Coach Federation in partnership with Price Waterhouse Cooper, it is estimated that there are currently around 53,300 professional coaches worldwide.

All coaches have unique talents, varied approaches and ways of working. Some are direct and challenging, and some are soft and nurturing. To choose the right coach for you, a free discovery call or as it is sometimes called 'chemistry session' can give you a good sense of a coach's individual style and whether it suits you.

What are your prices?

Prices will vary depending on the needs of each client. Your investment reflects your commitment and the value you are willing to get out of the coaching.

I am ready, what are the next steps?

Once you have decided that coaching is the right route for you, get in touch for a free discovery call which can last up to half an hour.

During this call, we will discuss your situation and what you would like to get out of coaching. We will agree the length, cadence and content of the coaching to suit your needs.

Based on your needs, I will design a coaching programme blending a number of coaching methods including but not limited to Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioural Coaching, Narrative Coaching, Positive Psychology, Person-centered & Gestalt, and Transactional Analysis.

Before your first coaching session we will sign a digital contract which clarifies the process and the commitment we agreed on.

Payment is made in advance and any cancellations of bookings must be made 48 hours prior.
